APEC BEST AWARD
Since 2015, the Committee has been conducting a statistical study - the Women's Business Activity Index (WBI).
WBI (Women Business Index) - shows the level of favorable business and social environment for the development of women's entrepreneurship in Russia.
The index is based on three key indicators that reflect society’s attitude towards entrepreneurship:
- entrepreneurial culture
- economic conditions and infrastructure (ecosystem)
- personal qualities and talents
The research is carried out with the support of the Eurasian Women's Forum
Main stages of the project:
The scale of the competition serves as a springboard for many business women and facilitates recognition in the business community. The competition helps participants build a network of business contacts among SME owners, consultants, mentors and investors in the Asia-Pacific region.
- National selection of participants representing APEC economies;
- Presentations of participants;
- Selection and awarding of winners;
- Publications in the media
- Preparation and publication of a catalog of best entrepreneurial practices on the APEC website.

- Creating a positive image of Russia in the international arena (in APEC);
- Promotion of women's entrepreneurship in Russia and other APEC economies;
- Dissemination of best women's entrepreneurial practices;
- Expanding the business volume of project participants through PR campaigns and entering new markets;
- Expanding access to finance at the level of banks and the state;
- Attracting media and public attention to women's entrepreneurship;
- Creating an ecosystem for interaction between experts, entrepreneurs and investors;
- Recommendations to participants from the best APEC experts.
The Committee, with the support of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation and the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, regularly takes part in major international forums and summits as part of official delegations of the Russian Federation, developing cooperation with APEC, UNIDO, SCO, BRICS, EMPOWER (G20)

The APEC BEST AWARD competition was initiated in 2015 at the APEC site by the Committee and the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation. During its existence, the competition has become the calling card of the Russian Federation in APEC.
The competition has established itself as one of the best projects in the field of popularizing women's entrepreneurship and attracting attention to talented projects that are potentially scalable in APEC markets (among SMEs). 17 countries became active participants in the competition.
The main goal of the project is to select and disseminate in APEC the best success stories of women - owners and managers of SMEs, key tools that help them in business development. In addition, the attention of the media, investors, representatives of government and public organizations is attracted to the participants and their business models, popularizing the idea of entrepreneurship among women and thereby involving them in the economy and giving the idea of implementation to the potentially active population of the Asia-Pacific region.
